ICE

Director Notes - “This was a thought experiment based on a small article I read about an undocumented immigrant father who was taken by DHS agents as he went to go pick up his newspaper. His family was unaware that he had been detained and worried that something sinister has occurred. Little did they know that he was in deportation process never to see them in America again. I wanted to explore this scene in a “matter of fact” manner using non-actors. I wanted to see if I could derive any drama by stripping it down from all the theatrical elements of conventional cinema. What the normalization of such an act would say about our social indifference, if not desire , to see people pulled from their lives.
